OUGD601 - Practical / Flag - Initial Sketches & Feedback

Following this specialised research and inspiration I began to generate a range of initial design directions for the flags aesthetic, this worked with the geometric shaped utilised within the branding to develop a range of unique and engaging compositions that created an appropriate sense of continuity with the brand identity thus reinforcing the brand image. Acknowledging this initial sketches are very rough, I recreated these tibial directions as wireframes with basic information so that when approaching other students for feedback these design directions would be more apparent and self explanatory.

Feedback:
Asking a sample of students (who double up as part of my target demographic) for feedback regarding which direction they find the most engaging I received a range of broad and varied research that differed between different students responses to these different directions. Commonalities between this feedback is that generally students felt the large bodies of type were ineffective and contracted the nature of the flag as an entity. They felt the logo should be included to reinforce the brand identity and most interestingly liked the visual composition of the shapes spiritually placed within the flag and suggested developing this further for added inspiration seeing where this takes the process.
